Alex Rodriguez, Kate Hudson get to know each other
Madonna may have had her lady police in full force in Miami on Friday, but that didn't stop Alex Rodriguez from doing some serious flirting at the Miami opening of the Fontainebleau Hotel with none other than the much younger, even blonder Kate Hudson. quick divorce
Rodriguez paid his dues with Madonna's best girlfriend, Gwyneth Paltrow, on Friday afternoon, having a quiet lunch with her at the hotel's Italian eatery Scarpetta. Pal Ingrid Casares was dispatched for duty after sundown to keep the Yankee slugger shielded from the constant flow of Miami floozies. But Madonna's girl could do little to ward off tablemate Hudson's charms.
"Hudson had her arms completely wrapped around A-Rod's waist and every time he leaned over to talk to anyone she would pull him back toward her," a person on the scene told the New York Daily News.Rodriguez: Michigan fans should 'get a life'
Heading into his first game against Ohio State, Michigan's Rich Rodriguez tried to deliver a message to fans who have lost touch.
"It's amazing some of the things that people would say (on a message board) or yell at you of a personal nature," the coach told the AP on Monday. "You almost want to tell them, 'Get a life.' There's a whole lot bigger problems. Look at the economy."
College football's winningest team has tumbled like the stock market, losing a school- record eight games, including a record five at Michigan Stadium. Could an upset, likely without quarterback Steven Threet (shoulder) or running back Sam McGuffie (death in family), salvage the year?
"The frustrations we've had or any disappointments we've had, a win would at least help a little bit," Rodriguez said. "But it's not going to erase everything."
McCready 'not proud' of being with Clemens
Country singer Mindy McCready claims she broke off her relationship with Roger Clemens when the ex-baseball star wouldn't marry her, according to an interview broadcast Monday by the syndicated show "Inside Edition."
McCready, 32, told "Inside Edition" she met Clemens when she was 16, not 15, as previously reported. She told the news magazine they met in a karaoke bar, that her relationship with the pitcher didn't turn sexual until several years later and the relationship lasted a decade.
"Carrying on a relationship with him is not something I'm proud of," she said, adding she regrets any hurt inflicted on Debbie Clemens, the pitcher's wife. "I have nothing but remorse and nothing but sympathy for what she's had to go through with this situation, and she has my utmost apology."
